We Discovered Podcast!
Assalamualaikum besties!
Let's talk about Podcast today! Yeahh.. I was supposed to do this activity in class but I have to be excused for about two weeks no thanks to my poorly taken care of pair of eyes. Nonetheless, that doesn't get the best of me. After coming back from the gruel condition of bloody eyes, I discovered podcast! Thanks to my classmates who taught me everything about it.
so...
Podcast
is a type of portmanteau word (words that consist of a combination of 2 or more words). It comes from the word iPod + broadcast.
Kinda have a nice ring to it doesn't it?
An audio/video file that are uploaded and broadcasted through the internet.
Well, you don't necessarily need internet for it. you can download them in your device and listen to them later on your own or on the move.
Gave you the feeling of listening to a radio but with somewhat useful contents that you actually are interested in.
What we are supposed to do in class was to search for a channel in podbay.fm and listen to an audio of our choice. Most of the others chose intellectual podcast to listen to. However, given the fact that Podcast can be used to improve listening and speaking skills, I searched for fairy tales and short stories for children.
Interestingly enough, I discovered Journey With Stories. A Podbay channel that provides good fairy tales and old folklore from Scotland. Narrated by Kathleen Pelley. Though she is speaking in English. There is no doubt that she speaks with a Scottish accent. Even when the pacing of her narration is slow, I still find it difficult to comprehend! This proves to be a great platform for me to observe and investigate more.
Even better, the luxury of listening to it in any given situation broaden the possibilities.
If you have you are just as interested as me, check it out!
Toodles!
